Headlines hit that 1,900 members of the Unite union will walk out on 21 August from Felixstowe, the UK biggest container port. Almost half of the UK’s container traffic passes through the port and the action will cripple supply chains, the logistics and haulage sectors, as well as international maritime trade.
The strikes come on the back of a barrage of issues hitting Britain’s supply chains over the last few years including the COVID-19 Pandemic and Brexit. The continuing disruptions and ongoing uncertainty make a strong argument for UK Manufacturing relationships.
