In running, persistence is key.
No, this isn’t an indictment of our evening TV-time in the winter months. It is an example of how our very own Kenneth Barr, Business Development Executive, wanted to achieve his dream of running the London Marathon.
After applying unsuccessfully on four previous occasions, this year his dreams will come true as he gets set to run the 2020 London Marathon.
Kenny has set the Barr high for his 26.22 mile venture around London. He is aiming to raise an impressive £2,000 for Alzheimer’s Society; a charity close to his heart.
Explaining his reasons for choosing the charity, Kenny said, “I’ve had first-hand experience of this horrible disease, and it’s one which takes away the person you knew and loved, long before they eventually come to rest. So, the sooner we find a cure, the better!”
It’s obvious he can’t simply show up and run the whole distance. If Kenny wants to finish the marathon, and without injury, he needs to train for it.
With just under ten weeks to go until Kenny finally ticks London off his marathon bucket list, we’ll be here to track his progress and follow his updates.
