The paint and decorating industry present a clear demand for safer and more eco-friendly packaging. All too often, paint tins are damaged by inadequate packaging or rough handling in transit, causing clean-up fees from transporters. After repeated instances of damage, the industry requires packaging that offers protection, cushioning and reliability.
Cullen has designed a range of paint tin fitments that are drop test approved to UN1263 from a height of 0.8 metres, certifying them as durable, high performing and quality. Made from recycled paper, the fitments contribute to our customer’s sustainable packaging drive and are easily identified as recyclable by consumers compared to other market alternatives.
Suitable for 500ml, 750ml, 1L, 2.5L and 5L paint tins, Cullen moulded pulp fitments are recyclable, compostable, biodegradable, nest inside each other and can be supplied with branded outer cartons. They don’t require any assembly time and can drastically reduce the risk of damage to paint tins during transportation.
To prove our paint tin fitments perform beyond the UN1263 drop test requirement of 0.8 metres, we conducted our own drop test. The test below used our 2.5L paint tin fitments to protect a paint tin from spilling across our dispatch yard from heights of up to three metres, way above UN1263 requirements.
