Cullen are proud to have worked to provide Numatic International high-performing and sustainable packaging solutions since 2008 and we were keen to hear their thoughts on their packaging supply.
How long have Numatic been in business?
Numatic was founded in 1969 in the Somerset town of Crewkerne, in southwest England, where it produced its first commercial vacuum cleaner design for cleaning coal, oil and gas-fired boilers.
What size is the business?
In 1995, subsidiary companies near to Paris, France and in Johannesburg, South Africa were established to provide full support for our increasing overseas activities in these regions. Further subsidiaries followed with Germany in 2002, The Netherlands in 2004, Switzerland in 2014, Portugal in 2015 and Spain in 2018. We export all over the world.
Why is packaging important for your products?
Packaging is important when transporting and stocking our products. We pride ourselves on reliability so having effective packaging maintains the quality of the products as well as promoting and spreading brand awareness when boxes are displayed at retailers.

Supply chain resilience has never been more topical. What do you look for from a supplier and how much does trust mean to you in that relationship?
Numatic International have critical requirements where commitments can be trusted, and Cullen provide us with a reliable service.
Is the environmental impact a factor in your packaging choice?
In the current landscape, sustainability is becoming a bigger concern for everyone. So, it’s important to us to increase sustainability across all aspects of our business from making sure our products last a very long time to increasing our use of recycled materials across our products and packaging. We’re proud to have achieved the primary objective of sending zero waste to landfill since 2017.
Numatic are a renowned UK manufacturer – how important are the quality standards associated with UK manufacturing to you?
We require international quality standards across all our supply chain and receive 100% of our requirements from Cullen.
What would you say to someone looking to work with Cullen?
We would recommend Cullen to any other organisation as an excellent company to work with.
