Solid Modelling
The central task for pulp design at Cullen Packaging lies in the creation of useful products. The heart of all design activity is the creative act which turns functionality into product and Pulp Product Design at Cullen has earned a respectable reputation for producing designs whose strengths lie in the accumulated knowledge, creativity and experience of the whole design team.

Our design process involves creating
bespoke pulp packaging built around the customer’s product(s) by means of SolidWorks 3D-CAD solid modelling software. Conceptual drawings are rendered and introduced at an early stage to ensure the development of a model, which fits all of the customers stated requirements.

Once the initial concept is agreed - our designers will make a precise
CAD model with accurate sizing - and using utility software, can then give the customer not only fully rendered prints but also a viewable computer file, allowing closer inspection of the part to be produced.

Sampling
On approval of the design, the CAD file is electronically transferred to the Tooling Department where samples tools are made to produce prototypes. This allows customer evaluation and testing of the pulp part before the finished aluminium tools for our ESPack processes are designed (again, using SolidWorks) and then machined using state-of-the-art 3-axis CAM machinery.

The Packaging World is changing and
Cullen Packaging are very much part of that change.

"Design is the essence
of communication...
...of cultural value and identity.

Form and function are not enough.
Our designs must have content which is meaningful for the user
".
