Pulp packaging has come a long way
Its origins date back to the invention of paper itself. The technology used at Cullen Packaging has greatly enhanced the appearance of traditional moulded pulp. However, renewed interests in the environmental benefits of pulp over oil-based plastic alternatives has encouraged Cullen to invest heavily in the latest pulp moulding technology.
Strength and Quality
Properly designed, pulp will perform better than expanded polystyrene and other plastic based cushioning. Our solid modelling and 3d frame design files can be produced in hours and transferred via rapid prototyping to produce a model within two weeks. This model is then subsequently used in the tooling processes later.
Our new Pulp Technology for provides unrivalled accuracy for traditional pulp. A wide range of colours can also make the pulp part an attractive feature of the product as well as being fully functional.
Advanced Technology
We work with various laboratories and drop testing is fast and inexpensive. Findings are immediately fed back into the design process to provide real time improvement in product design. Our latest development is the the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as an integrated part of the CAD/CAM process. Soon pulp packaging will be developed from concept to finished product entirely on computer.
• Rugged transit protection and cushioning from a truly biodegradable and recycled resource
• Pulp products nest, saving space and shipping costs
• Relatively low tooling costs
• No assembly time - unlike ‘origami’ corrugated fitments
• A cleaner, safer alternative to oil based plastic
• A responsible choice for the discerning designer or buyer
